Thanks Zach. I gave it a whirl just now. Worked pretty well. Felt different from streaming on YT but not that much different. I will try to do this daily for the next week and maybe keep them shorter to see how it goes. Trade off is the audience grows as you stream, but X in general seems to prefer shorter videos. t.co/T2Av2cDgSt

Mostly a good experience. Hard to know when live is live as you can see from the first 10 seconds of the video. Similar issues on YouTube live but I generally get that within a few seconds. Wasn't immediately obvious that the stream from OBS was coming in on X. On YouTube I can see the feed before I go live. On X I didn't see the feed. YouTube livestreaming gives a lot more analytics data though most of that is not particularly useful data. I like that I can schedule the stream and then start streaming once it's up. YT allows that as well. Hopefully next time I'll get more audience at the start of the stream. I think I was alone for the first few minutes. One thing I've been thinking about on YouTube is doing a livestream realizing most views will come after the stream is over. For the later viewers the start matters a lot. For live viewers most don't see the start. And for live viewers you kind of want to keep the content fresh and every once in a while let people know what the video is about. but for later viewers that feels off.

I just tried another livestream and it was choppy at best. I was using my home WiFi which was working before I started. I moved to a different place and it was still choppy. Then switched to my cell phone hotspot and still choppy. I run through a Singapore server from Thailand. I don't know what the problem was. I almost never have this problem on YT. Not never. Tried again. I don't see stats in the studio screen showing bit rates or other signs of how the stream is going. YouTube does have that. My OBS was showing a high rate of dropped frames on both home wifi and mobile hotspot. Can you get an X server inside Thailand like Bangkok so we don't have to rely on Singapore? I'm not sure if that's the problem. And X Studio's livestream screen should show stats on bitrates or other indications of how the stream is going. t.co/7nAqeMHOU6

I just tried another livestream. It did not go well. Video is persistently choppy. I did a speed test and my wifi seems to be fine. I moved from the car back into the house where it should be even better and the choppy did not improve. I had a weird reverb issue that I think was my fault with OBS so please ignore that. I don't understand why it's choppy. I almost never have this issue with YouTube livestreams and I do them weekly for as long as 90 minutes, though I did recently have a bad 20 minutes during a Zoom call. Thailand's internet has issues, where I think most internet traffic has to be routed through Bangkok (500 miles from me), and of course they refused Starlink. But again YouTube works fine. The nearest server in the settings is Singapore (see images). I wonder if X could establish a server in Bangkok.
